Litigation Legal Assistant

Berry & Fritzinger is recruiting a Litigation Legal Assistant.

Expected responsibilities include:
» Manage schedules and all calendars.
» Stay up-to-date on all litigation files and their deadlines.
» Prepare motions and pleadings for filing in court and serve on parties.
» Stay up-to-date on local rules of court and specific courthouse/department filing procedures.
» Assist in filing litigation documents with court and in serving documents to opposing parties/attorneys.
» Coordinate, track and update process server for service of documents on parties.
» Coordinate, collect and retrieve documents from courthouse, as needed.
» Coordinate and/or deliver hard copies to the courthouse/department, as needed.
» Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure accuracy.
» Manage trial deadlines and assist paralegal with pre-trial filings and preparations for trial.
» Draft and maintain all Clio shell templates, including all changes to the POS for all matters.
» Collect and retrieve information from files as needed.
» Provide administrative support including copying, scanning, on-site scanning, and faxing.
» Set up, organize and maintain paper (i.e. hard files) and electronic filing systems (i.e. Clio).
» Coordinate the collection of, and return of, original records from client, expert, subpoenaed witnesses, and other off-site locations.
» Create and maintain litigation binders (in-house and with attorney).
» Secure affidavits/verifications.
» Coordinate logistics for meetings, depositions, site inspections, and conferences.
» Plan and schedule appointments, conferences, meetings and travel arrangements.
» Provide setup and support for all virtual meetings and Zoom communications.

Qualifications:
» 2+ years experience in law and civil litigation.
» Strong communication, collaboration, time management and organizational skills.
» Deadline and detail oriented.
» Ability to prioritize and multitask.
» Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and drafting legal documents.
» Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
» Familiar with legal procedures and terminology.
